Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia picks an engineer as running mate
Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia has picked a running mate to replace his deputy.
Mr. Kimemia’s Deputy Governor Cecilia Mbuthia, opted out for personal reasons and thanked him in a letter for having worked together in the last five years to develop the region. Mr. Kimemia is quoted as having accepted the request and thanked his deputy governor for her loyalty in service. Ms. Cecilia Mbuthia also vowed to continue campaigning for Governor Kimemia in order to complete the projects he had started within Nyandarua region.
“My concerns and energies will go to campaigning for Governor Kimemia for a second term. The most important thing right now is to ensure that Governor Kimemia wins in order to complete his legacy projects. Nyandarua has recorded tremendous development projects under Governor Kimemia, he needs all the support to complete the legacy projects and improve the livelihoods of our people,” Ms. Mbuthia said.
Mr. Francis Kimemia termed his running mate, Joseph Mungai Mbugua as a distinguished son of Nyandarua with exemplary expertise, who he said brings wealth of experience to assist in the transformation journey that he started in 2017.
“I present to you a candidate with a proven track record. A dedicated servant of the people who will assist me in fulfilling the remaining part of my manifesto and the County Integrated Development Plan II, which has seen Nyandarua become a model county.”
Governor Kimemia says his running mate is an eminent professional and has been involved in development projects for Nyandarua during his administration.
“He has been instrumental in the construction of national road projects in Nyandarua. Among the projects he has overseen are the Mau Mau roads, Njabini-Maraigushu-Naivasha, Engineer-Naivasha, and Ndinda-Naivasha roads.” he said.
Mr. Mbugua, who comes from Kinangop sub-County, is the outgoing Kenya Rural Roads Authority regional director. A holder of Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi, Mr. Mbugua rose through the ranks to become one of the senior managers at the agency.
